2 tablespoons dried hibiscus or 8 small bags hibiscus tea
1/2 teaspoon salt
1/2 teaspoon pepper
1 teaspoon cinnamon
1 teaspoon dried thyme
1 teaspoon ground ginger
1/2 teaspoon ground allspice
1/4 teaspoon cayenne pepper
1/2 teaspoon garlic powder
2 tablespoons brown sugar
Red wine
Spare ribs
1/2 cup butter, melted

Crush dried hibiscus to create powder. Combine all seasonings. Add red wine to create a marinade. Rub marinade generously over both sides of ribs. Marinate overnight in refrigerator. Place ribs under a broiler until brown, taking care not to burn. Reduce heat to 350°F. Cook for 1 hour. Brush melted butter over ribs. Return to oven for an additional hour, or until meat is done. Allow to cool slightly, at least 15 minutes, before cutting into individual ribs.
